Welcome to Hango Agricultural College

Hango Agricultural College (HAC), commonly referred to as Hango, was established in 1969 by the Free Wesleyan Church of Tonga. The college is located in Ta’anga village on the island of ‘Eua, situated approximately 17.5 km (25 miles) southeast of Tonga’s main island, Tongatapu.

The institute was founded with a dual mission: to equip school leavers with practical agricultural skills for farming-related careers, and to provide a stepping stone for those pursuing higher education—whether locally or overseas. The name “Hango,” meaning Bounty, was graciously given by the late King Taufaʻahau Tupou IV, reflecting the vision of abundance and prosperity through agriculture.
